Louis Giraud. The Bookano Stories began publication towards the end of the 1920s, and were the first 'automatic' books. Sixteen annuals were produced between 1929 and 1949, with the title stemming from merging the words 'book' and 'Meccano&apos.Including three full-page illustrations in colour, six delightful illustrated pop-up models, and many black-and-white in-text illustrations.Collated and complete. In the publisher's original paper covered boards. Externally, sound, with some shelf wear and fading. Bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities, resulting in a small amount of loss to the binding at the spine. Internally, binding is lightly strained. Some of the black-and-white in-text illustrations have been amateurly coloured. A few pieces of pop-up model 'Dick Turpin's Ride' have become detached but are present. A few spots and handling marks to the pages. Good . Ill.: Various. Good .
