A photograph from a 1967 newspaper depicting a plaque dedicated to Sir George Du Maurier is loosely inserted between pages 276 and 277. A photograph of Beechwood House from the Daily Telegraph in 1966 is loosely inserted between pages 354 and 355. A 1971 Christmas card with a sketch depicting Muswell Hill in 1884 is loosely inserted between pages 422 and 423. To the rear are two pages of advertisements for works by the same author. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally smart with some wear to the head and tail of the spine and the extremities.
