Alexander of Brandfold, Kent. Containing a handwritten letter from the author to Alexander, in which the author apologises for having missed a meeting in Leicester with his friend. Containing the bookplate of Alexander to the front pastedown of each volume.Bound in contemporary half calf by T. Sowler of Manchester. A fascinating association copy of this work. Bound in contemporary half calf with marbled boards by T. Sowler of Manchester, with their binder's sticker to the front pastedown. Externally, generally sound, with some shelf wear to the boards and rubbing to the spines and extremities. Front joints of each volume are tender. Containing the previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown of each volume. A handwritten letter by the author adhered to the front free-endpaper of Volume I. Internally, hinges are tender.
