He was the editor of three gardening magazines and wrote over a dozen books on gardening and natural history.  With eight chromolithographic plates and forty wood engravings. With four pages of publisher's adverts.  Collated, complete. In the publisher's original green cloth binding. Externally, smart with some light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and a few marks to the boards. Both hinges are weak and the front free endpaper has come away but is present. Internally, the binding is loosening to the front and rear of the volume. Pages are bright and generally clean with a few scattered spots. Good . Ill.: Not Stated. Good .
