This is his most well known work, along with the pastoral poem 'The Deserted Village' and his play 'The Good Natur'd Man.' In the original publisher's full cloth binding with decorative gilt to spine and front board, gilt to the edges. Externally excellent with minor shelf wear only and a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Previous ownership inscription to recto front blank leaf, dated 1933-4.
