Hargrove first published in 1792, this is the second published edition, and is considerably revised and lengthened by a descendent of the author, Alfred E. Hargrove, who includes a chapter on Robin Hood, a glossary of terms, and an account of 'the principal existing societies of Archers&apos.Illustrated with a colour title page, frontispiece, folding pedigree, and four further plates. Lacking one plate.Inscription, dated 1932, to the front free endpaper. In the publisher's original paper covered boards. Boards detached. Majority of back strip absent. Inscription to front free endpaper. First seventy two pages detached, and held together by one cord only. Four further gatherings detached, and majority of remaining working loose.
