The Legend begun spreading in Europe in the thirteenth century.Dore was an eminent French artist of the nineteenth century, perhaps best known for his illustrated edition of the Holy Bible.Collated, complete.Undated, dated from Jisc from a copy held at the University of Cambridge Libraries. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, with some marks and rubbing to the boards and spine, and some loss to the head of the spine. A few small cracks to the backstrip. Minor bumping to the extremities. Head of the rear board is a little discoloured. Hinges are strained. Closed tear to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound.
