Stothard helped to design illustrations of almanacs, portraits of popular actors, and different editions of popular works. These include 'The Pilgrim's Progress' by John Bunyan as well as William Cowper's 'Poems', and Alexander Pope's 'Rape of the Lock&apos. Contents of this work include 'The Essayists', 'Stothard and the Novelists', 'The Annuals', and 'The Royal Engagement Pocket Atlas&apos. This work was written by A. C. Coxhead, with the proofs undergoing revision in his hands, but not fully published until after his death. Odd pencil inscriptions throughout the text from a prior owner who annotated and made notes.Collated, complete. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart. Minimal bumping and wear to the extremities and the spine, particularly the head and the tail. Fading to spine and to the boards where they connect with the spine along the joints. Age-toning and spotting to the paste downs and endpapers. Internally, firmly bound.
