He was killed in action at the Battle of Quatre-Bras, after which point his father was made a baronet in recognition of Cameron's military service.Contents include 'Monument at Kilmallie', 'Brief Remarks on the Clan System, and on the Character of the Highlanders', and 'Regiment Goes to Holland&apos. Written by the Rev. Archibald Clerk (1813-87), who was the minister of Kilmallie, as well as one of the leading Gaelic scholars of the Victorian era. With an illustrated bookplate to front pastedown belonging to Peter Forbes. Collated, complete. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart, with light bumping to the spine and extremities and fading to the boards and gilt illustration. Margins of boards are discoloured, as is the spine. Prior owner's illustrated bookplate to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound, with binding loosening a bit more towards the middle of the text.
