This work was originally published as 'The City of Trembling Leaves' in the US in 1945. Walter Van Tilburg Clark (1909-1971) was an American novelist and educator. He is one of the most distinguished novelists to come from the state of Nevada, with two of his novels including 'The Ox-Bow Incident' being made into a film. Collated, complete. In the original cloth binding, in the unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with minimal bumping to the tail of spine and a mark to the spine. Dust wrapper is very smart, with a few marks to wraps and a bit of discolouration to the rear. Minimal edge wear and chipping, with a few closed tears to spine region. Pencil inscription to left flyleaf. Light offsetting to endpapers from dust wrapper, with a prior owner's ink inscription to front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound.
