In the publisher's original cloth binding wit refreshed endpapers. Externally, some general shelf wear and slight fading to the spines and the top of the rear board of Volume I. Cloth slightly cockled to the front board of Volume II, and a few marks to the boards. Library notations to the tail of each spine. Some loss to the binding to the heads of the spines. Internally, hinges slightly strained, particularly front hinge to Volume II at page iii to v, resulting in a tear at the gutter.
