Heneage Jesse, the author writes brief biographies on some of the notable men who studied at Eton College. Contents include memoirs on Horace Walpole, Nathaniel Forster, George Augustus Selwyn, Anthony Champion, and the Reverend John Foster. J. Heneage Jesse (1809-1874) was an English historian who was educated at Eton College before becoming a clerk within the Admiralty. Collated, complete. Bound in half-calf binding on cloth boards. Externally, generally smart. Some fading to the top edge and margins of boards of both volumes. A bit of spotting on the calf binding, with wear to extremities, head and tail of spine, as well as bands of joints. A few marks to rear board of Vol II. Internally, firmly bound.
