Heneage Jesse (1809-1874) was an English historian who was educated at Eton College before becoming a clerk within the Admiralty. Collated, complete. Bound in half-calf binding on cloth boards. Externally, generally smart. Some fading to the top edge and margins of boards of both volumes. A bit of spotting on the calf binding, with wear to extremities, head and tail of spine, as well as bands of joints. A few marks to rear board of Vol II. Internally, firmly bound.
