In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart. Cloth is bright, with some arks to boards, particularly to front board of Vol 5, 7, and 8. Vol 7 is particularly faded to front board. Minor edge wear to extremities, with a bit of bumping to head and tail of spine. Loss of spine to Vol 5 with binding exposed at bottom edge. Some offsetting to front endpapers of a few volumes. Vol 8 has a damp stain as well as cockling to the rear pastedown and endpaper. Prior owner's pencil inscription to front pastedown of Vol 8. Some plates are detaching from binding to Vol 3.
