Mead, the founder of the Quest Society.Mead was was an English historian, writer, editor, translator, and an influential member of the Theosophical Society, whose scholarly work dealing with the Hermetic and Gnostic religions of Late Antiquity was exhaustive for the time period. Publisher's wraps and back strips significantly age toned. Nine front or rear wraps detached but present, and two absent. Library stamps to front and rear wraps. Spotting to fore edge of text blocks. Internally, the majority of volumes are firmly bound. Binding of Vol. I, No. 1 tender, with the final 72 pages of Vol. IX, No. 3 absent, and the text block of this volume split.
