In particular it was an important part of society culture during the Georgian eras, during the height of popularity in the city.The 'Character' section of this work was fairly controversial at the time, ripping into the character of fifteen physicians of Bath, most of whom were recent.By Thomas Guidott. In a rebacked full calf binding. Externally, with some rubbing and marks to the boards and spine. Light bumping to the extremities. A little loss of leather to the bottom edge. Institutional stamp to the top and bottom edge. An ex institutional copy from the Bath Reference Library, with labels to the paste downs, recto to the front endpaper, reverse of the title page, and recto to the rear free endpaper. Ink inscription to the recto to the front blank. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and clean with a few odd spots. A little edge wear to the folding plates and double paged plate.
