Description: London, William Innys, 1714. Fine Binding. A very scarce second edition of Thomas Fuller's important medical treatise, which provides previously guarded medical recipes. In English. Fuller produced this work with hope that it may be some service to beginners and although it was originally published in Latin, this English edition was produced for 'publick Good' (preface). There are over 800 medical recipes to this work, divided into several categories including diets, broths, honeys, juices, pills, powders, possets and potions. Fuller uses Apothecary units as his form of measurement.This copy has been restored, and rebound in a fine binding. The title page and A2 have been laid down onto new pages. With the collation: A8, B8, B-Z8, 2A-2K8, 2L-2O4. In a recent full crushed morocco binding. Externally, fine. Internally, firmly bound. First two leaves have been laid down onto new pages. Heavy chipping to the top and bottom margins of the first 40 pages, heavier to the first ten leaves. Repair to the head of leaves C2, C3, C8, D1, D4, 2O2-2O4. Repair across E2 diagonally from the centre to the top outer corner. Pages are slightly age toned, with damp staining to the margins. The pages are brittle to the edges and may chip easily. Good .
