He was a Fellow of the Royal Society and a prolific author. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally generally smart, with some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Ownership inscription in pencil to the front endpaper. Historic auction slip pasted to the front pastedown. Internally, binding is occasionally a little tender, with some strain to the front hinge, which remains firm. Pages have the odd spot. Very Good .
