Edmund Blampied was an artist and caricaturist known for his etchings and cartoons. This was his only book, published whilst the market for etchings had crashed during the Great Depression. He also produced illustrations for a new edition of 'Peter and Wendy' by J. M. Barrie, considered one of the finest editions of the work. Illustrated with eighty-six of Blampied's renowned cartoons in black and white, including his dog lithographs. Undated; dated from copies held on Jisc. With the ownership inscription of Leonard Harrison Matthews, a British zoologist known for his work on marine mammals. He was a Fellow of the Royal Society and a prolific author.A scarce collection of cartoons. In the original quarter cloth binding with paper covered boards. Externally generally smart; boards are a little bumped and age-toned to the edges, and the spine is a touch discoloured as to be expected. Ownership inscription to the front endpaper.
