His expedition had been wrecked on the coasts of Vanikoro in the Solomon Islands. Written by Captain George Bayly.In the original pictorial cloth binding with gilt stamping to the front board and spine. This copy also came from the library at Julians Park, Hertfordshire, the previous home of Audrey Pleydell-Bouverie (1902-1968). She was an English socialite and through her mother was allegedly the illegitimate granddaughter of King Edward VII. In the publisher's original blue cloth binding with gilt stamping to the front board and spine. Externally, very smart, with a few small marks to the boards and a small amount of bumping to the head and tail of spine and extremities. Internally, hinges strained but firm.
