Finding himself now in southern France with his young son, Caldicott adjusts to his new life and attempts to uncover the mystery of his brother's disappearance. This copy is in the original unclipped dust wrapper and signed by the author to the title page. Sir Dirk Bogarde (1921-1999) was an English actor, screenwriter, and novelist. During his writing career, he wrote seven best-selling volumes of memoirs and six novels.This copy came from the library at Julians Park, Hertfordshire, the previous home of Audrey Pleydell-Bouverie (1902-1968). She was an English socialite and through her mother was the illegitimate granddaughter of King Edward VII. In the publisher's original cloth binding.
