A special copy from the library of Roger Senhouse, translator and publisher, and member of the Bloomsbury Group, known to have been Lytton Strachey's last lover in the late 20s and early 30s. This copy was annotated in pencil throughout by Senhouse. Signed and inscribed by Senhouse to the front free endpaper: "see p.248 for Eddie Marsh's gift.' 'The Burial in England' was indeed annotated in pencil by Edward Marsh, another prominent English translator, arts patron, and civil servant, who worked as private secretary to a succession of United Kingdom's ministers, including Sir Winston Churchill. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear and a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities, minor chipping to the extremities of the rear board, with some minor marking to the boards. With Roger Senhouse's bookplate to the front pastedown his inscription to the front free endpaper 'see p.248 for Eddie Marsh's gift.' Internally, firmly bound.
