W. J. Hardy - Hertford County Records Sessions Roll

Title: Hertford County Records Sessions Roll
Description: Hertford, C. E. Longmore, 1905-10. Cloth. A smart collection of three volumes containing historical Hertford's county records. Situated just north of London, Hertfordshire is a historic county of England, with its development tied with London's. It was the site of numerous uprisings against the monarchy, including the English Civil War and the War of the Roses, and contains an unusually high number of abandoned settlements, possibly relating to the soil quality and the Black Death. These three volumes cover the sessions roll from 1581 until 1894.Written by William John Hardy, an English archivist and antiquarian. Along with William Page, he worked on the county records for Hertfordshire, whose county was pioneering the care of its archives.Compiled under the direction of the Hertfordshire County Council. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally generally smart; the heads and tails of the spine are a little bumped, with a few marks to the board of the third volume. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good . Ill.: None. Very Good .
