It was printed and published by William Bradford, New York's first established printer, in approximately 1731.Only two impressions were made from the original copper-plate, and controversy exists surrounding the authenticity of circulating Bradford maps. In this work, the author, William Loring Andrews, an avid book collector who owned one of these impressions, analyses the various copies of the Bradford Map and compares them to the originals. Including two facsimiles of the Bradford Map, collated and complete, and in superb condition. Including a chronological list of the various Bradford Maps that have been published since 1834 to the rear.
