Dr Bragge was an important figure in the art market during the eighteenth century and has been regarded as one of the first examples in England of the gentleman-connoisseur-dealer. He became a popular figure in society and held numerous auctions throughout the mid 1700s. This publication was issued the year after his death and focuses on Bragge's gluttony and his wife's parsimony. Illustrated with a portrait frontispiece.Collated, complete.
