Oswald Brown, a frequent painter of horses.To the front pastedown is the bookplate of Sir Philip Brocklehurst, known for being a member of the 1907-1909 Nimrod Expedition in Antarctica, led by Ernest Shackleton. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to spine head and tail and extremities. Bookplate to front pastedown. Front hinge strained but holding firm, with rear hinge somewhat weaker.
