John Gibson was a Scottish author to the Signet and intimate friend of Walter Scott, trustee of his estate following the insolvency of 1826. Gibson shares some reminiscences regarding his friendship with Scott, sharing details of some of previously unpublished, personal letters in occasion of the late author's centenary. The first edition of 1871. A very scarce volume. In the original publisher's binding over paper covered boards with the titles to a spine laid on to the front board. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear and a touch of edge wear. Inscribed in pencil to the front free endpaper, undated. Internally, firmly bound. With a minor spotting to the first and last few leaves and the fore edge, otherwise the pages are generally bright and clean. Very Good . Ill.: None. Very Good .
