Addressed to a Professor S. Thompson, Lubbock asks 'Will you let me introduce to you an old friend of mine, Mr. F. F. Seddendale. He is anxious for some information, which [..] you will kindly give him. If so I shall be much obliged&apos.Illustrated with a portrait frontispiece to each volume, and two further plates. The folding genealogical table to volume I is supplied in facsimile. Collated, complete. While each volume has the label of 'Grants Select Library', Edinburgh, to the front board, there are no further ex-library identification marks internally. In the publisher's original cloth binding.
