Each volume features the illustrated title page of the 1797 edition, followed by the title page of the 1801 edition. Illustrated with a frontispiece and further plates of illustrated portraits.'Junius' was an anonymous writer who wrote a series of sixty-nine letters for the 'Public Advertiser' from 1769 to 1772. The letters were critical of the government of King George III, making this a riveting political commentary of the Georgian era.Sir Philip Francis is now generally considered to be 'Junius', though this is not universally agreed upon.With the armorial bookplate of 'Thomas Carnegy of Craigo' to the front pastedown.With two pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear of the work.
