Graveson was particularly popular with conservative Catholics and their high-ranking patrons, while enjoying the respect and esteem of Pope Benedict XIII. Following his death, Graveson's works were edited and supplemented by Italian prelate, theologian, scholar and historian Giovanni Domenico Mansi, responsible for the publication of both of these works. Bound together are the eighteenth volume of the complete works of Graveson, alongside a treatise concerned with evidence that Jesus Christ is the 'true messiah' despite the protests of 'heathens&apos. Both works are bound with their original title pages, and an index appears to the rear of the work. In the original full calf binding. Significant rubbing to the boards, resulting in areas of loss to the leather. Absence of a portion of the back strip to spine tail. Front pastedown has detached from front board. Contemporary inscription to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are remarkably clean and bright. Good . Ill.: None. Good .
