A very scarce volume. The first edition leaves dated 1866, in new original publisher's wraps of the 'cheap issue' (1876). A charming collection of poems and essays by John Harris, Cornish poet author of 'A Story of Carn Brea,' 'The Mountain Prophet,' &c. the Shakespeare Tercentenary first prize poem. This volume includes the Ode that won the first prize at the Tercentenary of Shakespeare in 1864. Containing various charming poems and sonnets by this author as well as two essays 'Mat Moss' and 'The Prophet at Home.'  In the original publisher's paper wraps. Externally smart with some shelf wear and some loss to the head of the spine, minor chipping and some minor faint spotting to the wraps. Internally, firmly bound. With the minor faint odd spotting to the occasional leaf; otherwise, the pages are generally bright and clean throughout. Good . Ill.: None. Good .
