A detailed survey of the city of Jerusalem during the Years 1920-22, recording the changes and improvements carried out by the Pro-Jerusalem Society, which Ashbee was the chairman of, during the very beginning of the British Mandate in Palestine. The chapter on 'L'Etat de la Cite de Jerusalem au XII Siecle' is in French, the rest is in English text. Illustrated with numerous photographs in black and white, maps, plans, and two coloured folding plans. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding over paper covered boards. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear only and a slight edge wear. The cloth to the spine has slightly darkened. With a library bookplate to the front pastedown, and stamps to the front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. With a minor faint scattered spotting to the occasional leaf, although, generally, the pages are bright and clean throughout.
