He translated numerous other works from French, including Jean-Baptiste de La Curne de Sainte-Palaye's 'Memoirs of the Life of Froissart' and Jean de Joinville's memoirs.Complete in two volumes.Containing a life of the author, as well as an essay on his works and a criticism. Bound in contemporary leather, with decorative tooling to the spine, marbled edges and endpapers.Illustrated with wood-cuts throughout the text, as well as an illuminated title page. Externally generally smart; a repair to the spine of vol. I includes a prior lot number. Spines are a little rubbed and the boards are a little worn, with some bumping to the extremities.
