Written by Thomas Dugdale, antiquarian and cartographer active in the first half of the nineteenth century.With 'An Alphabetical Chronology of Remarkable Events, from the Earliest Authentic Period to the Present Time' by Leonard Townsend bound to the rear of Volume III.Complete in three volumes.Undated; dated from copies on Jisc.Volume I is lacking a title page, but illustrated with a frontispiece engraving, twelve double-page maps and sixty-seven engraved plates. Volume II contains an illustrated frontispiece and engraved title page, as well as one hundred and twelve plates and sixteen double-page maps.Volume III contains an engraved title page, ninety-six plates and twenty-seven double-page maps, as well as twenty-eight portraits engraved on steel in the additional volume bound in. In a half calf binding. Externally generally smart, with some loss to the leather of the extremities and heads and tails of the spines from rubbing; the boards are also a little worn in places. Internally, generally firmly bound, with a little straining to the front rear hinges of volume III exposing the binding. Pages are a little spotted in places, particularly the plates and opposing the plates. Volume II has one volume with some loss to the top affecting the diagram, and one plate loose but present.
