Sarah Jeannette Duncan was a Canadian author and journalist, remarkable for being the first female Canadian journalist, and writing about women's suffrage in notoriously conservative publications. This story was originally published under the name Mrs Everard Cotes in 1894. In the publisher's original hardback binding. Externally smart, with a coloured illustration on the cover, and some shelfwear to the head and tail of the spine. Internally firmly bound, with bright and clean pages, and unblemished colour plate illustrations. Slight ink marks on the lower corners of pages 76-77. Very Good Indeed . Ill.: A E Jackson.
