John Corry was an Irish historian and topographer, whose works included biographies of William Cowper, Joseph Priestley and George Washington. He also penned histories on Liverpool, Bristol, Macclesfield and Lancashire.'A Satirical View of London' ran many successive editions, with this being the sixth edition of 1815; it had first been published in 1801. It comprises sketches of the characters frequenting the city.'Edwy and Bertha' was first published in 1802; this is a third edition of 1815, with the first having been published in 1802.Two volumes bound as one in its contemporary binding. In a half straight grain morocco binding. Externally generally smart, with a smart mark to the tail of the spine; the boards are slightly rubbed. Ownership inscription to the front pastedown.
