Noted members were Robert Browning, Charles Darwin, Benjamin Disraeli, Arthur Conan Doyle, H Rider Haggard, and many others. Illustrated with various photographs of London throughout. With the very scarce, unclipped dustwrapper. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, very smart with only minor shelf wear and a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine. With a letter inscribed and signed by one of the members of the prolific Athenaeum Club in London:, "Harrison read 'Looking Back on London' by Dorothy Hood. [..], you have a rare [..] is slim. W. R." dated 12 Oct 33. The dustwrapper is sound with some chipping and edge wear as well as a minor loss to the head of the spine and a minor tear to the spine. Unclipped. Internally, firmly bound.
