His map of London, engraved in 1658, provides an important source for the city's geography ahead of the Great Fire of London.From the library of the Marquess of Sligo, a title in the Peerage of Ireland created for John Browne in 1800. Containing a library bookplate of Westport House, the ancestral seat of the Browne family until 2017. In a full cloth binding. Externally generally smart, with some bumping to the tail of the spine and fading to the front board. Ownership stamps and bookplate to the front pastedown. A few pencilled notes on the title page and numbers to each description. Some notes have been tipped in to page 8. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are uncut and bright and clean. Very Good .
