A selection of quatrains translated to English from the original Persian. These verses became popular by the later half of the nineteenth century, and was published in over one hundred editions, inspiring other translations to English and many other languages. In the original publisher's cloth binding, with gilt to front board and spine. Externally very smart with minor shelfwear and slight bumping to head and tail of spine. Slight edge wear and minor rubbing to cloth to extremities and joints. Internally, firmly bound.
