Cohen was a British Conservative Party politician, who massively campaigned on the behalf of disabled people after he lost both of his legs in the First World War.Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front endpaper, 'From Theresa Otterbourg, Jack's godmother who wishes him many happy returns of his birthday - 1905&apos. Theresa was the godmother of Jack Benn Cohen, whose bookplate it to the front pastedown. In the original quarter morocco binding with decorative cloth to the boards. Externally, generally smart, with some light rubbing to the boards and spines. Extremities are a little worn. Spine is a touch faded. Front hinge is starting but firm. Bookplate to the front pastedown. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with a couple of light handling marks.
