Born in Dublin, she was a pioneering animal rights activist, as well as being a social reformer and feminist.'The Intuitive Theory of Morals' was Cobbe's first work, and was initially published in 1855. Inscribed and signed by author to front free endpaper, "Jane M. Foulkes from her affectionate Frances Power Cobbe," dated May 1902. In the original publisher's cloth binding, with titles stamped in gilt to spine. Externally very smart with slight shelfwear and minor rubbing to extremities, as well as slight bumping to head and tail of spine. Inscribed and signed by author to front free endpaper, "Jane M. Foulkes from her affectionate Frances Power Cobbe," dated May 1902. Internally, firmly bound, though hinges are slightly strained to Preface. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good . Ill.: None.
