Ashbee succeeded in his campaign to save the building, who set up the 'Committee for the Survey of the Memorials of Greater London&apos. They were the first buildings to be put on his preservation register which became the listed building system.A fantastic work, important to the social history of England, as it was this campaign that grew the listed building system.
