Such plates are included in this work, and other erotic classics produced by him such as Aristophanes, Ovid, and Strato. A limited edition, numbered 1963 of 3000 copies. This text was translated by William Adlington one among the host of translators that made the Elizabethan era the "golden age of translations". His translation of this work in 1566 was the text's first appearance in English and has been steadily reprinted into the twentieth century.With an introduction by E B Osborn.A fantastic copy of this fantastically illustrated work.
