He was mostly known for his Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard, published in 1751. With priced-clipped dustwrapper.Illustrated.  In the publisher's original burgundy cloth binding, with titles stamped in gilt to spine. externally lovely, with minor shelfwear only. inscribed by previous owner to front free endpaper: "to Daddy, with much love from Richard and Peter on his 27th wedding anniversary," dated August 1955. Dustwrapper is very smart and price-clipped, with minor shelfwear only and minor handling mark to front board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
