Description: London, George Routledge and Sons, c1880. Leather. A lovely copy of this novel by Scottish historical fiction writer James Grant. James Grant (1822-1887) was a Scottish novelist and a distant relation of celebrated poet, Sir Walter Scott. He wrote around ninety books, including fifty-six novels, most of which focused on the military and history of Scotland, including many memoirs and histories as well as his fiction writing. His books were all published by Routledge and Sons as yellowbacks, cheap novels produced in competition with the penny dreadful. This edition has been rebound from a yellowback copy.
