First edition, fourth impression.  Volume V is a second impression. Collated, complete. This is a fantastic work, which Churchill delivered at great speed following his electoral defeat. It was first published from 1923-1931 and is a staunch defence of his Gallipoli policy and a criticism of Haig's strategy.A smart early edition of this important work. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Front hinge to volume V is strained but firm. Large patch of damp staining to the front board of volume V, not affecting the internals. Internally, all volumes are firmly bound. Pages are bright. Heavy spotting to the first and last few pages.
