To this work, Keynes agrees in principle that a marketplace of free individuals pursuing their own self-interest without government interference allows for the improvement of a society's economic situation than a socialist alternative. However, he also finds that a government can be constructive in protecting people from the worst of capitalism's cycles. An important work in the Keynesian cannon.
