Description: London, T Warren, 1693. Leather. A smartly bound, very scarce poetry anthology from the late seventeenth century. Featuring poems from many noted authors such as Charles Sedley, the Earl of Mulgrave, G Granville and George Etherege. This work is an enlarged version of the previously published 'A Collection of Poems written upon several occasions by several persons&apos. The catchword to E7 does not match F2, as called for. E8 and F1 are noted by the ESTC as possibly being blanks. If this is the case, they are removed in this instance. Bound without A1 blank and one leaf of advertisements. Prior owner's inscription to the verso of title page. Bookplate to the front pastedown, Robert J Hayhurst. Another prior owner's inscription to the recto of front endpaper 'A G Greene Presented by John Vee May 24th 1838&apos. A very scarce poetry collections, with works by many noted English authors including Aphra Behn, Abraham Cowley, George Montague, Edmund Waller, and Mrs Wharton. In a half diced calf binding, with paper covered boards. Externally, generally smart, with light rubbing to the joints and extremities. Front hinge is strained but firm. Prior owners' inscriptions to the recto of front endpaper and to the verso of title page. Bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright. Closely cropped to the top edge, slightly affecting the running title to gathering Q. Just the occasional light spots. Good . Ill.: None. Good .
