A beautiful topographical work on the mountains of Snowdonia. Snowdonia is a region in Wales, and has the highest mountains in England and Wales. In this work, Jones brings a critical study of archaeology and history into the discussion of the mountains. Written by Harry Longueville Jones, a Welsh archaeologist and artist. He was also an Inspector of School for Wales, and a founding member of the Cambrian Archaeological Association. This work was published the year after Jones graduated. Sketched by H. D. Jones, drawn on stone by J. D. Harding. Harding was a landscape painter, who is known for using tinted papers and opaque paints in watercolour, an influential method. In a quarter cloth binding with paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart. Tidemark to the tail of the front board. Loss to the extremities. Bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Rubbing to the spine. Some marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with some spots.
