The first edition of this work. Pierre Beaumarchais was a French polymath, being a revolutionary, publisher, spoy, horticulturist, watchmaker, as well as many other pursuits. He was a supporter of American independence. Louis-Sebastien Mercier was a French writer and dramatist, who began his career by writing heroic epistles. He was a member of the National Convention, and voted against the death penalty for Louis XVI, later being imprisoned during the Reign of Terror. Nicholas Thomas Barthe was a French poet and playwright in the eighteenth century. In a full calf binding. Externally, generally smart. Rubbing to the spine.
