Errata slip to volumes I, II and III. With the bookplate of one Herbert S Squance to the front pastedown. The London Gazette of 1935 lists Squance as a Lieutenant-Commander to Commander in the Royal Navy. Herbert Salisbury Squance was the son of British pathologist, antiquarian and naturalist Thomas Coke Squance. Herbert edited a selection of his father's writings. Complete in three volumes. The Third volume of this work was published two years after the first two. A very smart set of the correspondence of this important Victorian literary figure. In uniform half morocco bindings with cloth covered boards. Externally, smart with heavy rubbing to the joints. Very minor shelfwear to the extremities and light scattered spots to the cloth covered boards. Split to the rear joint of volume III. Bookplate to the front pastedown, Herbert S Squance.
